In just four short years, Bommarito Ford, 675 Dunn Road, in Hazelwood, has achieved a pinnacle of success few dealerships attain.

For 2014, Bommarito Ford has earned the President’s Award, Ford Motor Company’s most prestigious honor. The award salutes top-performing dealerships achieving the highest levels of customer satisfaction in sales and service, employee dedication and operational excellence. Bommarito Ford was the only St. Louis dealer to be honored with the award. “It’s the evidence that the Bommarito culture is effective and testimony to what putting the right people in the right place can do,” said automotive group president John Bommarito.

Prior to its acquisition by Bommarito Automotive Group in 2011, the Hazelwood Ford store was selling less than 200 cars per year. Since then, the dealership has steadily grown, rising to rank 119th of 3,200 dealers nationally. Last year, Bommarito Ford sold more than 2,500 new and pre-owned vehicles. The key to success?

“Embracing the Bommarito philosophy from the beginning,” said Brad Gilbert, general sales manager.

That philosophy — a combination of volume pricing, a large inventory, and a high degree of personalized service, all in a convenient address — invites customers to return for service, parts and future vehicle sales.

A complete renovation of the 1990’s-era building, with an anticipated cost of $2.5 million, is slated to begin in August, transforming the retail/service facility into Ford’s new brand image. RE: Apple’s New Electric Car Is In The News

It’s probably years away, but my guess is that this highly profitable company will invent this product in California, but build it in a foreign country, once again missing the opportunity for massive job creation in the U.S.A. just as it has in it’s computer-run business.

Next, if Tesla’s Washington insider, Elon Musk, gets his way with Missouri legislators, the New Apple cars could be sold only in Apple stores with no competitive pricing, just like it’s computers. You know, here’s the price, take it or leave it.

Don’t get me wrong, the Apple computer products are really good, but so are Maytag washing machine products. But at least you get to shop around for price, plus they are built right here in America.

The big question is; Will electric cars ever be the total answer to American car buyer’s everyday needs? Currently, all of our major manufacturers, both foreign and domestic, are building electric cars and are competitively pricing them through the current franchise system.

However, the lack of available nationwide charging stations limits the potential for owning only an electric car.

My message is, if you like paying full list price for your electric car and don’t care what you get for your trade or what you pay for financing, then Tesla and Apple will be the right place for your future car purchases.

I’m sure you have seen it.  It is a commercial about our wounded warriors that I can hardly watch, because it is so sad.

I know the celebrities and television. stations that have come forward to help our wounded warriors are as unhappy as I am that in America we do not have a realistic budget to take care of our heroes and their families.

The V.A. is in the spotlight right now and under repair and it’s about time.

It’s insulting and degrading that our military must now count on donations for needed care.  It’s just not right; what are they thinking?

Helping other countries and so called allies, while we are not fulfilling our obligations at home, like the V.A. and wounded warriors, is cold blooded nonsense.

Going to war affects everyone who has ever done it in many ways and putting on a parade or dedicating a special day is just not enough.

It’s time for us, the American taxpayers, to demand that Congress puts together a generous budget for after care of our veterans and wounded heroes.  Not a hand out, but their earned reward.
